Legitimate subdomain "documind-ai" incorrectly flagged as profanity

Hello Streamlit team,

I’m trying to deploy my application DocuMind AI on Streamlit Community Cloud.

I want to use the subdomain:

documind-ai

However, Community Cloud shows the following error:

“This subdomain contains profanity. Please provide an alternative subdomain. Think this is a mistake? Shoot us a message on the forum.”

I’ve also tried variations such as docu-mind-ai and documindapp, but they are being rejected as well.

DocuMind AI is the actual name of my application. It is an AI-powered document assistant that uses Google Gemini and Streamlit for PDF/TXT document analysis, RAG-based Q&A, summarization, page citations, mind maps, glossary extraction, and interactive quizzes.

Could you please check whether “documind-ai” is being incorrectly detected by the profanity filter and let me know if the subdomain can be approved?

Welcome to the Streamlit community, and thanks for your detailed question! :rocket: Unfortunately, Streamlit Community Cloud uses an automated filter to block subdomains containing certain substrings it detects as profanity—even if the word is harmless in your context. There is currently no official way to bypass or appeal this filter for individual cases, and similar requests for exceptions (including for app names, company names, or technical terms) have not resulted in changes to the filter. The best workaround is to choose a different subdomain, possibly by altering the spelling or adding numbers/characters (e.g., docum1nd-ai, documindai1, or documind-assist) as suggested in other forum threads. If you believe this is a mistake and want to bring attention to it, you can post on the Streamlit forums as you’ve done, but there’s no guarantee the filter will be changed for your case. The filter is applied globally and is not currently adjustable for individual requests. We encourage you to try creative alternatives and share your experience in the forum so others can chime in with their solutions or support. If you have a minimum reproducible example or more details, please share them for community input!
