Mapbox token

How do I attach the mapbox API key to my code. I was able to add the heatmap layer in my local machine but when I deployed it in heroku, only map is visible and heatmap distribution is gone. I think this is because of the key not attached.

I also tried creating a new token on mapbox website and in the URL, I added my heroku app’s URL but still its working if I open the heroku link in my laptop but not working in other machines.
Any help is highly appreciated.
