Public app returns “You do not have access to this app or it does not exist”

Hello,

I’m having an issue with a Streamlit Community Cloud deployment.

My app appears correctly in My apps and is connected to my GitHub repository:

  • Repository: JoeMks86/MealPlanner
  • Branch: main
  • Main file: streamlit_app.py
  • Custom URL: mymealplanner.streamlit.app
  • Python: 3.14

The app sharing setting is configured as “This app is public and searchable.”

However, when I try to open the application, including from an incognito browser window, Streamlit redirects me to:

share.streamlit.io/errors/not_found

with the message:

“You do not have access to this app or it does not exist.”

The application is still visible in my Streamlit workspace, but I cannot access the deployed app itself.

I previously deleted and recreated the deployment while troubleshooting, and the issue persists.

Could you please help me determine whether the deployment or the custom subdomain is stuck or incorrectly associated with a previous deployment?

Thank you!

Hey there, thanks for sharing your question and all those helpful details! This is a common issue when a Streamlit Community Cloud app’s GitHub coordinates (repo name, branch, or entrypoint file) have changed, or if the app was deleted and redeployed with the same custom subdomain. When this happens, the app may still appear in your workspace, but the URL returns “You do not have access to this app or it does not exist.” This can also occur if the app’s GitHub repo or branch was renamed, or if there’s a mismatch between your Streamlit and GitHub accounts.

To resolve this, you should:

  1. Delete the app from your Streamlit workspace.
  2. Make any needed changes in your GitHub repo (confirm the repo, branch, and entrypoint file are correct).
  3. Redeploy the app, and when prompted, re-select your custom subdomain (mymealplanner.streamlit.app). If the subdomain is unavailable, wait a few minutes or try a temporary subdomain, then switch back. For more, see the official docs on renaming or changing your app’s GitHub coordinates and app settings. If you’re still stuck, try signing out and back in with the correct GitHub account, and check your repo’s visibility and permissions. Community members, feel free to jump in with your insights!
