Adding a scroll to the chatbot

my chatbot works like this

as you can see the more message i type the lower the textbox goes. white the messages are in one placeholer, the textbox is in another. yet i canot seem to enable a height to the chat messages and enable scroll such that the text box stays init place and user can scroll back and forth to see the history
