In my understanding, there is not a lot of demand for functionalities that allow easier modifications of the UI. Therefore, the community has developed a lot of ‘hacks.’ Streamlit was created as a tool for data scientists and not necessarily for front-end developers. With finite resources, the Streamlit team focuses on core functionalities.
