MarketSutra - A free (open source) NSE + Bitcoin + Crude terminal on streamlit

Hey everyone :waving_hand:

I’ve been trading and creating educational content around Indian markets for a while, and I always wanted a single dashboard that combines screening, technicals, fundamentals, news, and crypto/commodities in one place β€” without paying for a Bloomberg-style terminal. So I built MarketSutra.

What it does:

  • :bar_chart: Classic Screener β€” scan NIFTY constituents on RSI oversold/overbought, MACD cross, SMA200, golden cross, volume spikes
  • :chart_increasing: Technical view β€” candlesticks with SMA20/50/200, Bollinger Bands, RSI, MACD, plus an intraday 15-min overlay
  • :office_building: Fundamentals β€” company profile, sector, key ratios for NSE-listed stocks
  • :newspaper: News β€” live headlines split across India markets, Bitcoin, and crude oil (Google News RSS)
  • β‚ΏCrypto & Crude β€” live tape for BTC, ETH, WTI, Brent, Gold with the same technical overlays
  • :abacus: Position Size Calculator β€” capital, risk %, entry, stop-loss β†’ instant quantity and rupee risk

Built entirely in Streamlit + Python, data from Yahoo Finance (delayed) and Google News RSS. Dark, terminal-style UI.

It’s fully open-source (MIT license) β€” feel free to fork it, break it, or suggest features. Would love feedback from this community on performance (I’m hitting Yahoo Finance a fair bit, working on caching next) and UI/UX ideas.

Not financial advice, obviously β€” just a tool for research and learning. Happy to answer any questions on how it’s built!
