Private App Limitations - Number of Users

I’ve noticed that there is a limitation on having 100 users on a private app. Is there a way to adjust the maximum numbers of users a private app can be shared with?

A potential work around would be to create a public app that makes use of authentication, in this way the app can be accessible to a wider audience with the proper authentication credentials.
