Private Community Cloud app stuck at “Spinning up manager process”

Hello,

Our private Streamlit Community Cloud app previously worked correctly, but it now displays an infinite loading spinner and does not start.

App URL:
https://curesponse-drug-navigator-wke4espztgwevbutnt5uth.streamlit.app/

The deployment logs stop at:

Disconnecting...
Provisioning machine...
Preparing system...
Spinning up manager process...

No repository-cloning, dependency-installation, or Python-execution logs appear afterward.

We have already:

  • Rebooted the app.

  • Waited for the deployment process to complete.

  • Triggered another restart after selecting Python 3.11.

  • Verified that the application code compiles successfully.

  • Verified that the data file can be read correctly.

  • Successfully run the same code and data in GitHub Codespaces using Python 3.11.

Deployment configuration:

  • Private GitHub repository

  • Branch: main

  • Main file: app.py

  • Python: 3.11

  • Streamlit: 1.64.0

Because the logs stop before the repository is cloned or the application code is executed, could someone from the Streamlit team please inspect and reset the deployment or manager state for this app?

I can provide additional deployment details privately if required.

Thank you.

Hey there, thanks for sharing all those details and for your thorough troubleshooting! :balloon: This “infinite loading spinner” with logs stopping at “Spinning up manager process…”—before any repository cloning or dependency installation—almost always points to a backend or orchestration issue on Streamlit Community Cloud, not a problem with your code, repo, or config. Multiple users have reported this exact symptom, and it’s often resolved only by a platform-side fix or service restart. Your steps (reboot, Python version change, code validation, Codespaces test) are all the recommended actions, so you’ve covered the bases.

If the logs never reach the repository cloning step, it’s not an app or requirements issue. The best course is to monitor the Streamlit status page and forums for outage updates, and consider submitting a support request if you haven’t already. For more info and similar cases, see the official docs and forum threads: App stuck at spinning up manager process, App deployment stuck after processed dependencies, and App loads indefinitely. Community members, feel free to jump in if you’ve seen a recent workaround!
