I was wondering whether it’s possible to run librairies that rely on Java to work? (e.g. PySpark)

Hi Charly,

Sure as long they have a Python API and Java is correctly configured on your system :wink: (for a PySpark example check out one of my university tutorials I have to finish writing XD https://github.com/andfanilo/pyspark-streamlit-tutorial)

Hmmmm it seems installing Java 8 on Debiant Buster (slim) is not a simple apt-get install openjdk-8-jdk so you can’t simply put it inside packages.txt :confused:

Hi @Charly_Wargnier -

The fix for being able to add java to the Sharing image just went out a few minutes ago. Please see the following example for how to set it up, which will hopefully allow you to use Java to your heart’s content :slight_smile:
