Scholar Scrap: Scraping relevant information of research papers from Google Scholar

Hello Streamliters,

Scholar Scrap is a helper tool that takes your text input and searches directly in Google Scholar for you, providing relevant information of research papers from Google Scholar results.

How does it work?

  1. Simply enter your keywords in the text field.
  2. Select how many pages to scrap from Google Scholar results.
  3. As a result, you get a downloadable csv file containing:
    • Paper title, year, author, number of citations, publication site and the URL of the paper

A chart is also provided to display papers by year and number of citations.

Hi nainiayoub,

Clicked on this app as it would be useful for research. Unfortunately, there seems to be a bug when trying to search - I am not able to add text into the box. A :no_entry_sign: No Entry Sign Emoji is shown.

Seems to be intentional,

Why build such an app then?

Hi @Mysteryink1992,

Thank your for your feedback.
I disabled the input field to solve some issues, which are now fixed.

You can now use Scholar Scrap for your research purposes.

I’m looking forward to your feedback!
Thanks,

Hi, nice app, thanks!
But, why do you hide the streamlit standard menu?
It seems a bit strange :man_facepalming:

Thank you so much for your feedback @karelin !

I just didn’t think the menu was needed, but now that you mentionned it, I will add it back

@nainiayoub For example, one can change settings (like light/dark color scheme) using this menu or faster discover the source code
