Public apps should automatically be picked up by Google

Thus, I’d recommend to also add some descriptive text in-app in order to improve the SEO and its indexability.

I’ve moved your thread into this category to better address your question about search engine visibility.

So if the application is publicly shared, then it will be indexed by search engines automatically. However, if the app is private, it won’t be indexed.
