There are a lot of great streamlit components scattered on github, why not merge into the main streamlit branch?

Thanks for sharing this question! I totally agree that there are a ton of awesome Streamlit components on GitHub. Our components gallery does a nice job of aggregating many of them, as does the community tracker.

I think there are quite a few reasons behind why we wouldn’t merge Streamlit components into the main library. One of the biggest is security – we’d have to make sure that every component merged into the library is secure and doesn’t create vulnerabilities for the library as a whole.
