Using custom icons for checkboxes?

Currently we have the empty box and the tick for checkboxes, which are great as defaults.

But are there any plans / is it possible to apply custom icons for these? Currently, I have parameter lock checkboxes, which would communicate to the user best if the icons were assigned as locks, something like

I’d prefer to avoid text to describe buttons, but so the app looks clean and uses space efficiently, but also to boost use by non-English speakers.

Any ideas on how this could be implemented? thanks :blush:
