Hey, this app is private so I can’t share a link. But the general question should make sense.
I’m looking for possible causes behind an eternal spinning wheel.
The app seems to deploy but then it gets stuck. Logs are totally blank. No error messages.
I’ve tried rebooting and even deleting then re-adding the app, and same issue.
I’m a new Streamlit user – is this a common occurrence? It feels like it’s platform-side given that there’s no errors returned.
Welcome to the Streamlit community, and thanks for your thoughtful question! An “eternal spinning wheel” (app stuck on “Please wait…”, “in the oven”, or just loading forever) with blank logs is a known issue on Streamlit Community Cloud. This can happen even if your code worked before, and is often due to platform-level problems, resource limits, or dependency/environment mismatches—not necessarily your code. Rebooting or redeploying sometimes helps, but not always. If logs are totally blank and you see no errors, it’s likely a backend or orchestration issue, not a bug in your app logic or repo structure. This is a common occurrence, especially during platform incidents or after backend updates. For more, see the official docs and community reports: Resource limits, Deployment troubleshooting, and Forum FAQ.
If you want to dig deeper, check your requirements.txt for typos or unnecessary packages, make sure your Python version is supported (3.10+), and try a minimal app (just st.write(“hello”)) to rule out code issues. If the problem persists, it’s almost certainly a platform issue—especially if the same code works locally. You’re not alone, and the community is always happy to help if you share a minimum reproducible example or your requirements.txt!
