My Community Cloud app has been stuck on the loading spinner this morning. Rebooting and opening a fresh browser tab haven’t resolved it.
Downloaded logs contain only the header, with no startup messages or errors. The app uses Python 3.12.

Could you help check why it isn’t starting?
Hey there, thanks for sharing your question and all the details—welcome to the Streamlit community!
When a Streamlit Community Cloud app is stuck on the loading spinner (“Your app is in the oven”) and logs are empty, it usually points to a deployment or platform issue, not a bug in your code. Common causes include: (1) resource limits, (2) dependency or Python version mismatches, or (3) a temporary backend problem. Since you’re using Python 3.12 (which is supported), and rebooting plus a fresh browser tab didn’t help, this is likely a platform or dependency issue.
Here’s what you can try next, based on official docs and recent forum threads:
- Double-check your requirements.txt for typos, unnecessary packages (don’t include standard library modules), or incompatible versions.
- Make sure all files your app needs are present in your repo and referenced with relative paths.
- If you recently changed dependencies or Python version, try deleting and redeploying the app.
- Sometimes, platform-side issues cause this symptom—monitor the Streamlit status page and check the deployment troubleshooting docs and resource limits guide.
- If the problem persists, try a minimal app (just
st.write("hello")) and minimal requirements.txt to isolate the issue.
If you’re still stuck, please share your requirements.txt and a minimum reproducible example—community members love to help debug! Folks, feel free to jump in with your insights or similar experiences!
