Community Cloud app stuck loading with empty logs

Hi,

My Streamlit Community Cloud app suddenly stopped loading. It only shows a blank page with the loading spinner.

I first tried rebooting the existing app, but it stayed stuck during startup. The logs only showed messages like:

Provisioning machine...
Preparing system...
Spinning up manager process...

I then changed the Python version from 3.14 to 3.12, but the app still did not start properly.

After that, I deleted the old deployment and created a completely new deployment from the same GitHub repository. The new deployment now has the exact same issue: blank loading screen and no useful app logs.

The app worked normally before this and the repository has not changed since it was working.

Repository setup:

  • Branch: main
  • Main file: app.py
  • Python: 3.12
  • Hosted on Streamlit Community Cloud

Is there currently an issue with provisioning Community Cloud apps, or is there something else I should check?

Thanks in advance.

Hey, thanks for sharing all those details and welcome to the Streamlit community! You’re definitely not alone—many users have recently reported that their Streamlit Community Cloud apps get stuck at “Provisioning machine… Preparing system… Spinning up manager process…” with a blank page and no errors, even after rebooting, redeploying, or changing Python versions. This is often a platform-level issue, not a problem with your code or repo, especially if your app worked before and nothing changed in your repository.

The best practices are: (1) try rebooting and redeploying (which you’ve done), (2) double-check your requirements.txt for typos, unnecessary packages, or version conflicts, and (3) ensure your Python version is set to 3.12 or 3.11 in the Cloud “Advanced settings” (runtime.txt is currently ignored). If the app still hangs, it’s likely a temporary backend or orchestration issue on Streamlit’s side—these sometimes resolve after a platform update or service restart.
