Deleted private app still blocking redeployment – request to release workspace slot and subdomain

If you’re creating a debugging post, please include the following info:

  1. Share the link to the public app (deployed on Community Cloud).
  2. Share the link to your app’s public GitHub repository (including a requirements file).
  3. Share the full text of the error message (not a screenshot).
  4. Share the Streamlit and Python versions.

Dear Streamlit Community Cloud Support,

I recently deleted my existing private Streamlit application, dipindex-app, from my workspace (dkarki123) to redeploy it from an updated GitHub branch.

However, although the application no longer appears in My apps, the deployment form still displays:

  • “You can only have one private app per workspace on Community Cloud.”

  • “This subdomain is already taken.”

Original app URL: https://dipindex-app.streamlit.app

GitHub repository: https://github.com/dkarki123/dipindex-app

Could you please check whether the deleted application remains registered in your backend and manually release its private-app allocation and custom subdomain?

I would like to redeploy the application privately from the phase4-mtls branch while retaining the original URL.

Thank you for your assistance.

Best regards

Thanks for including the app URL, repository, branch, and exact errors. Deleting the GitHub repository isn’t enough; confirm the app itself was deleted from the correct workspace. Streamlit says a deleted app’s custom subdomain should be immediately available, and a workspace can have only one private app (Delete your app, Share your app). If it’s gone from My apps but the private-app limit or subdomain error persists, the provided docs don’t describe a way to manually clear those records—contact Streamlit support with the app URL and workspace details. Also include your Streamlit and Python versions; because the app is private, a public app link isn’t applicable.
