New Handbook: BI‑as‑Code for Non‑Developers – Streamlit × Claude Code + One‑Click Codespace Starter

Hi Streamlit community :waving_hand:

A few weeks ago I posted “HANDBOOK: BI‑as‑Code with Streamlit – a free, no‑gate guide for flexible dashboards”.
The response was incredible—thank you! Many readers (and our own clients) loved the idea of AI‑driven BI‑as‑Code, and most were especially interested in Claude Code. Yet they also highlighted two pain points—particularly for non‑developers:

  1. Setting up a local Python environment to start using Streamlit is hard for them.
  2. Being unfamiliar with CLI, they struggle to use Claude Code effectively, and defining a proper CLAUDE.md setup becomes an extra hurdle.

Those conversations inspired a new resource.

What’s inside

  • One‑click environment – spin up a GitHub Codespace straight from our starter kit (GitHub - squadbase/streamlit-claude-code-starter) and skip local installs.
  • Ready‑made CLAUDE.md tuned for Streamlit
  • Clear Claude Code workflow with prompt tweaks and live fixes
  • Tutorial that cleans data, adds Plotly charts, and share a dashboard with your team in minutes
  • Sandbox keeps your machine safe even if the AI misbehaves.

I’m the author, so feedback is welcome. Let’s discuss best practices for using Streamlit + AI coding agents to push data democratization forward.

Thanks for reading, and happy building!
