Streamlit app stuck in "please wait" when deployed in Google App Engine

You are right. I had to use Google App engine Flexible environment rather than Standard environment since Streamlit supports python version >=3.8.

Yes. Here is my configuration file:

runtime: python
env: flex

entrypoint: streamlit run app.py --server.port 8080 

runtime_config:
    operating_system: "ubuntu18"
    runtime_version: "3.8"
