I just hit a milestone in the development of my first Streamlit app. I’m sharing it here in the hopes that more experienced folks can provide feedback on the app.
My knowledge of Streamlit is pretty much limited to the “30 days of streamlit” challenge . So if you are more experienced than that, and something stands out to you as a missed opportunity, please let me know!
As the title says: the purpose of the app is to help people better understand how Covid changed their community. More details can be found in this blog post, but the general idea is that data from the US Census Bureau is one way to do this.
Some background on me, and what led me to create this app: I have a background in software engineering, but for the last decade or so I’ve focused on R. (I’ve also created several R packages that deal with data visualization and public datasets). Last year I set a goal of learning Python as well as I know R, and this is my first side project that seemed worth sharing.
I’ve also attended both of the Streamlit Meetups in SF, and am planning to attend the event on June 6th - hope to meet folks there!
